☆Customised Cushions

An acquaintance once wanted to give their friend something interesting and unusual as a house warming gift. She used to tease him about his eating habits, and his love of deep fried fast food.
After seeing my colourful flower cushions and toadstools, she suddenly came up with the idea of presenting him with a chicken drumstick cushion!

What a great idea!
I came up with a finished piece based on this design. The bone was sewn together out of beige coloured leather, and the meaty goodness was stuffed faux poodle fur, which very closely resembled a specially crunchy style of deep fried chicken, popular at the time.
Needless to say, her friend loved it.
I wonder now though, if he’s curbed his eating habits, or if it just encourages him further.
Perhaps she should have ordered a salad sandwich cushion instead…

☆Personalised Hats

Personalised Hat made for a 40th birthday present.
The hat was sewn together before being embroidered in thick chunky red letters outlined in black.
The only place I found which sold terry-towelling hats, had sold out and was due for a delivery in a week. Not soon enough. Luckily, locating the raw materials proved to be much more easy. The hat was made promptly to size, embroidered, and delivered on time.
