Polynesian Dancing – Mana

Mana Dance Company was born with a passion for the gentle love and grace of Polynesian dancing.

“What is Mana?
The word mana refers to a type of force or quality that resides in people, animals, and inanimate objects. The concept is common to many Oceanic languages, including Melanesia, Polynesia and Micronesia.

‘Mana’ is like ‘chi’ or energy. It is very powerful. Mana connects all things, land, people, universe.

Mana Polynesian Dance Group are a unique dance troupe with a passion to share dance and ‘mana’.”

Meagan Fitton has been inspired by the inner spirit and enhanced sense of sisterhood amongst women whilst dancing together. Sharing each action, expressing a common story, flowing together like a wave in the ocean, the feeling is meditational, and allows space for energy to flow freely throughout the body.
By some accounts, dance is a controlled healing movement of energy, and after enough practice you begin to feel it.

Polynesian dancing keeps one’s body supple, and like Yoga, allows you to take the movement as far as you can without putting unhealthy strain on the body.
A mixture of fast and slow dance serve to enhance flexibility, muscle strength and cardiovascular activity.
Aside from a feeling of personal enjoyment, when done well, it’s also very beautiful to watch.

Mana offers generously heartfelt dancing tuition for beginners. Perfect for Hen’s nights, girls birthday parties, Christmas gatherings and more. It’s a fun way for a group to try something new together.

Mana also offers private tuition, and has enjoyed choreographing and teaching pieces for brides to dance at their weddings!

Children’s parties and entertaining the elderly are a speciality of the beautiful girls from Mana.
Mana is available for corporate events, parties, festivals, Kids parties, parties for all ages, and also gives great lessons for beginners, in groups and private tuition.
