About
My name is Elisa Marigold AKA: “Agent Ube”
I’m a freelance costume maker, working in theatre, movies, commercials, photo shoots, music video clips and private commissions. The list of employers is quite long and includes
Opera Australia,
Sydney Theatre Company, and
Melbourne Theatre Company.
I’ve also spent years working in costume hire for everyday parties and corporate events, sometimes dressing as many as 30 people single handedly in a day from scratch! – which is no mean feat when people wont hire unless they’re happy.
I also spent a few years Polynesian dancing with Pasifika Sway, but that’s another story.
During that time however, generally over Christmas, I found myself dressing people for their end of year “Hawaiian” themed work parties, only to surprise them in the evening appearing as a member of the dancing team hired to add authentic Island entertainment to their event! They would say things like “Gee, you really go a long way to ensure your costumes get looked after!” and I would giggle, because it’s funny to meet the same people in different contexts.
But they were right, I do take my costuming seriously.
In my spare time I develop these pages and make all sorts of costumes and clothing and accessories.
And have taken to downloading them and offering them for sale under the “Items for sale” category.
Everything is hand made in Australia, and often from recycled materials, or off cuts.
“Agent Costume” is the agency under which we operate. “Ube Love” is the label we put on everything, a signature of Ube (oohbay) Love quality. Made with loving inspiration. Most pieces are one off items, made with a client or event in mind.
Ube Love doesn’t believe in waste, and has been known to turn even the smallest fake fur off-cuts into amazing multicoloured patchwork car seat covers, blankets and clothing!
Read our Ube Love posts to find out more, and design a gift for some one you know today.
I hope you enjoy checking out some of these pages, and please feel free to comment or make enquiries.
Enjoy, and Have Fun!
